Napping with dad

Olivia is sooooo tiny that we are having a problem finding anything that fits her. We had to go out and buy new pajamas today because she only had a couple that fit. Here she is in her new jammies napping with John. It is rare to catch this as John never admits to napping!! (As referenced in an earlier post!)

Conversations with dad

John is so sweet with Olivia! He always calms her down and loves sitting with her! I was able to capture a sweet moment with the two of them. It looks like she is telling him a story.

Going to LA to play laser tag this weekend

We are heading up to LA for the weekend. It is Haley's birthday and she is having her party at LaserStar. Those 8 year-olds don't stand a chance. Those little third grade punks are going down!!!!

I'm a Tebow fan

Dont get me wrong...I bleed burnt orange and I am pulling for Colt McCoy to win the heisman. However, I am a huge fan of tebow too. I just saw the highlights of the Fla Geo game and noticed that Tebow had a bible verse on the blackouts under his eyes. I doubt the announcers told anyone what the verse said. Here you go:

We made it back from our Key West anniversary vacation. As you can see from the photo, it was beautiful, relaxing, and largely documented using my Nikon SLR. Therefore, there will be a little bit of time required to transfer the photos over to the blog. It will be worth the wait...we had a great time and the Sumset Key island was beautiful...Key West was a lot of fun too. More to come.

Amanda stopped by her mom's class and read one of her favorite books to the class. It was very exciting...something about three fat kids and if they were ever on the same side of the school, it would tip over the school

Mom and Morgan: Windows boarded up and going to ride out the storm at the lake as long as possible
Dad and Mary: In San Antonio, pray their home is there when they return
Becca and Jimmy: Becca is with her in-laws, and I am sure Jimmy is working to keep the plant safe

Weather in SD

Fog??? Who would have thought that fog would seem like inclimate weather?!?!? When you live in San Diego long enough and you end up loving fog. It is the only weather we have here. Don't believe me??? Watch our weather forcast for 92122, and tell me we have weather. I am convinces that the people who finished last in meterology school end up in SD and those who are top of the class end up in Boston or Chicago. Our weather forcast is 2 minutes long. Most of the time they talk about weather in other parts of the country. I guess I will go surfing tomorrow...if the weather is nice...it will be.

Puppy Mills

Hello All!

A non-mobile post from the "better" half!! Kidding... while John has been very busy reconnecting with old friends on Facebook and updating the blog, all from his iPhone I have not been as busy with getting to the blog, etc. So, I am back now and with a very important message! Many of you know that we have two really great pups, dachshunds. Many of you also know that I am an advocate for animal rights and the WONDERFUL benefits of rescuing a dog. (Our rescue pup, James featured below is a challenge, but really fun). Well, I just want to remind everyone who reads this blog to PLEASE consider rescuing a dog or puppy instead of buying one from a breeder and definitely DO NOT ever buy one from a pet store! Also, if you know anyone in the NY area who wants a dachshund, the North Shore Animal League just busted up a HUGE puppy mill of all doxies. Birthday Cake

It is John's birthday today and while he hates to be the center of attention, I don't care! I am going to make him his favorite dinner and bake him a birthday cake!! Thank you, Susan, for the gorgeous picture! He hung it up last night (that is one TALL ceiling) and it looks amazing!

Vendor days

Amanda got bored with her cube and spent a day at Staples selling printers. HP gives their employees a day off for three hours at one of their vendors answering questions about threir products. Amanda was great at sales and enjoyed being back at it...even if for only 3 hours. She sold a printer to someone who did not even own a computer...she's that good.

Jury Duty!!!

I got my first call for jury duty. What a great civic duty...what an extremely boring selection process. There is a 2 week trial, but my employeer only pays for 5 days....at least I will not be on that one.
